The Lower Brule Sioux Tribe is among the three finalists for the 2018 Excellence in Cooperative Conservation Award from USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service in South Dakota.
The other two finalists for the award are the SD Corn Growers Association and SD Ducks Unlimited.
NRCS State Conservationist Jeff Zimprich says all three finalists have done amazing work to further conservation across South Dakota. He says their teamwork to blend resources of individuals, private organizations, universities and local, state and federal government entities, has strengthened overall relationships.
NRCS will present the award at the state convention of the SD Association of Conservation Districts in Pierre Sept. 16-18.
