A 33-year-old Pierre man faces multiple charges after a traffic accident on Friday.
The Pierre Police Department reports officers being called to the 1600 Block of East Dakota Avenue for a hit and run traffic crash. The suspect had struck two vehicles and left the scene. While investigating, another party called to report Myron Littlebaldeagle had taken a vehicle without permission. The reporting party had located the damaged vehicle near Littlebaldeagle’s residence. The vehicle matched the description given to officers by witnesses to the hit and run.
Littlebaldeagle was located by officers walking from the residence where the vehicle was recovered. While conducting the investigation, officers determined he was under the influence of alcohol and had assaulted another person.
Littlebaldeagle was charged with Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Failure to Provide Information of an Accident, DUI, No Valid Driver License and Simple Assault. He was taken to the Hughes County Jail.
