Pharmacists working in Pierre and Fort Pierre have been honored by the South Dakota Pharmacists Association for outstanding contributions to the profession.
Kristen Carter, who works at Lynn’s Dakotamart Pharmacy in Pierre, was named the Distinguished Young Pharmacist of the Year. The award was created in 1987 to encourage newer pharmacists to become involved in association activities and community service. This award is chosen by the SDPhA executive team.
Shane Clarambeau of Brothers Pharmacies, Inc. in Fort Pierre was given the Hustead Award and named the SDPhA Pharmacist of the Year. The Hustead Award recognizes contributions or service during a career, or significant accomplishments during a short period of time that impact the profession in a positive manner. The award stresses both the individual’s professional career and the impact they have made on the profession, as well as their community service and personal activities– demonstrating the dedication, resourcefulness, service and caring that has made pharmacy one of the most respected professions in our country.
