The council approved rejecting the bids for the airport runway project.
The council approved re-advertising for bids for the airport runway project
The city received an application from the low bidder in July and asked them to hold the price for 60 days. The Federal Aviation Administration was still looking at the city’s application for 100% funding. The council thought they’d have answer within the 60 day time period but the FAA’s answer for the grant application showed on the 83rd day. The low bidder and at least one other bidder turned down the project because the 60 day time period passed. All interested bidders will now be able to make new bids for the project and start anew.
The Mobridge Municipal Airport is one of only 37 airports in the nation that received the grant for 100% funding of the airport projects.
