Fort Pierre hosts its annual Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration this afternoon and evening (Fri.).
Mayor Gloria Hanson says it takes a lot of people to put the big tree up.
Along with the tree lighting, there are several other activities.
The festivities in Fort Pierre this afternoon and evening are based out of the Pat Duffy Community Center.
