An elderly man spent over half an hour in the water today (Fri.) after his kayak overturned while fishing at the Fort George Recreation Area east of Pierre.
Volunteer Fire Department chief Ian Paul says the man wasn’t wearing a life jacket when he fell in.
Other agencies also responding were AMR, South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks, South Dakota Highway Patrol and the Hughes County Sheriff’s Office.
