FREMONT, NE – Ronnie McBride had three hits, including a double, and drove in three Wednesday as the Fremont Moo dropped the Pierre Trappers 9-4.
Pierre struggled defensively, committing five errors. Trappers’ pitching allowed nine hits, four walks and four hit batsmen. Jake Leger (1-3) gave up three runs and five hits while striking out five in five and two-thirds innings, but trailed just 3-1 when he left the game with two out in the sixth inning. After that, an error led to five unearned two-out runs. Billy Moreland homered, doubled, and drove in two for the Trappers.
Pierre will again play Thursday night at Fremont at 7:05, then host Souris Valley Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Hyde Stadium.
