PIERRE – Playing without some of their regular offensive starters due to quarantining, the Pierre Governors still had little problem Friday with the Spearfish Spartans, winning 79-28 on Hollister Field at Phil Trautner Stadium.
Maguire Raske rushed for 190 yards on 22 carries and six touchdowns. He also caught one of three touchdown passes by Lincoln Kienholz, who was 14-of-24 for 244 yards. Raske had seven catches for 100 yards. Jack Merkwan and Aaron Booth also had touchdown catches. Merkwan had three receptions for 83 yards and Booth caught three for 52 yards. Freshman Trey Lewis rushed for his first varsity touchdown and Cade Kaiser threw a touchdown pass to Ashton Griese.
Cord Ellis recorded his second interception of the season. Austin Foley and Jaden Flor had five tackles each, with Flor making one of them for a safety. Lucas Jones had a sack.
Rylan Derry was 11-of-11 on extra points.
For Spearfish, quarterback Seth Hamilton was 11-of-19 for 304 yards and four touchdowns, three of which were to Brayden Delahoyde, who caught eight passes for 279 yards.

Governor head coach Steve Steele said he was happy with how his team played, but also credited Spearfish on their passing game.
Steele said that Raske was ready for all the work he received.
Steele was pleased that younger Pierre players made the most of their chances.
Steele singled out special teams players that performed especially well.
Steele thinks that there is promise for Spearfish’s future.
Steele talked about the three important games that are head for the Governors.
