FORT PIERRE – Stanley County’s defense registered its third shutout of the season Saturday as the Buffaloes defeated Hot Springs 34-0 at Ole Williamson Field.
Hot Springs (1-6) had the ball for just under 18 minutes in the first half, but Stanley County (4-2) led 6-0 at halftime on a 31-yard touchdown pass from Lathan Price to Trey Frost. Evan Nordstrom and Prince rushed for third-quarter touchdowns. Nordstrom ran for a 46-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter, then Prince ran back an interception 40 yards for the game’s final touchdown.
Nordstrom carried the ball 12 times for 147 yards and two touchdowns. Prince was 4-of-4 passing for 81 yards and a touchdown.
The Buffaloes’ defense had five sacks, three by Nathan Cook and two by Daysen Titze.
