RAPID CITY – Kinsey Evans, Allison Hough and Dom Santiago were medalists for the Chamberlain Cubs Saturday at the A State Cross Country Championship at Hart Ranch Camping Resort.
In leading the Cubs girls to a fifth-place finish overall, Evans was eighth individually at 20:06.54. Hough was 15th, running in 20:28.22. Also for Chamberlain, Ella Phillips finished 43rd, with Kylah Biggins 54th, Aine Grasser 61st and Samantha Peppel 64th.
Santiago ran eighth in the boys race at 17:24.31. Chamberlain’s only other entrant, Declan Tveit, was 39th.
Stanley County: Three Buffaloes ran in the girls race, with Sarah Fosheim 56th, Kaysen Magee 62nd and Bailey Siedschlaw 115th.
Miller: The Rustler boys earned a plaque with a fifth-place finish, led by a 12th-place run from Pierce Baumberger. Alex Schumacher was 38th, Caden Gortmaker 51st, Kellan Hurd 75th, Ethan Harrell 106th and Isaiah Gortmaker 108th. Two Miller girls also ran at state, with Gabby Werdel running 102nd and Ellie Gates 113th.
Winner: Kade Watson helped the Warrior boys finish eighth as a team, medaling with a seventh-place individual finish of 17:16.75. Winner girls were 13th.
CLASS B
Kimball/White Lake: The WiLdKats took the Class B girls title, edging Aberdeen Christian, 33 to 39. Sidney McCord (12th) and Taya Chelmo (20th) earned individual medals. The Kimball/White Lake boys were sixth, with Drew Ekstrum the best individual at 37.
Also in Class B, the Potter County girls finished ninth. In the boys race, Philip was ninth, Lower Brule 15th, Jones County 16th and White River 18th.
