Scott and Julia Jones of Pierre and Dale Larson of Brookings have challenged the Boys and Girls Club of the Capital Area in Pierre to raise $500,000 for a $1.5 million match to the Club’s fund held with the South Dakota Community Foundation.
Former Club board member Julia Jones says the services this nonprofit provides the community’s families are more important than any of us realize. Because of the matching gifts, all community donations to the BGCCA endowment fund will be matched $3 to $1.
Stephanie Judson, SDCF President & CEO, says if the half-million dollars is raised within the community, the Larson and Jones match will bring the BGCCA endowment to $3 million. She says this perpetual will annually provide 4.5% of the fund’s four-year average value to benefit the mission of the Club
Tad Perry, the Club’s Chief Volunteer Officer, says the Boys and Girls Club of the Capital Area ensures children in the Pierre and Fort Pierre area have a safe, supportive place to go after school. He’s grateful for the donation and for the opportunity to meet this fundraising challenge.
Every $1 to the BGGCA endowment fund is matched with $3 because of this challenge. Donations via check should be made payable to:
