Eagle Butte Man Sentenced for Sexual Exploitation of a Child and Possession of Child Pornography

An Eagle Butte, South Dakota, man convicted of Sexual Exploitation of a Child and Possession of Child Pornography has been sentenced in federal.

Dustin Red Legs, age 41, must spend 264 months (22 years) in federal prison, followed by 5 years of supervised release.

The conviction stemmed from an incident in September 2018 in Eagle Butte when Red Legs knowingly used a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing any visual depiction of such conduct. Red Legs further knowingly possessed and attempted to possess material that contained an image of child pornography, which had been mailed and shipped and transported in interstate and foreign commerce.

Red Legs was immediately turned over to the custody of the US Marshals Service.
