PIERRE – Madison native Jamy Habeger will one of the two sharing head coaching duties for the Pierre Trappers in the 2021 season. Seth McLemore, previously announced as this season’s head coach, has accepted a full-time position and will not be in Pierre.
Habeger was a baseball and rugby player at Sacramento State in California in the early 1990’s and currently works for the Sacramento City Unified School District as an adapted physical education specialist. He also has been the baseball head coach at Rosemont High School for 10 seasons.
Habeger will share the duties with Monterio May, who is the head baseball coach at Heber Springs High School in Arkansas. May played baseball at Shelton State Community College and Central Baptist College before coaching at Central Baptist and the University of Central Arkansas.
Also, the Trappers have signed four players: pitcher Fischer Rausch of Southeast Missouri State, Houston Baptist outfielder Christian DuMont, and two players from Minot State, infielder Kaiden Cardoso and pitcher Tyler Luban.
The Trappers will open their third Expedition League season on Tuesday, May 25 against Hastings at Hyde Stadium.
