I’m not going to lie, I’m not a baker by any means. I hate following directions most of the time. In baking, that’s super important. I like to cooking because you can free ball it all day, every day. LOL But… once again, I’ve learned some awesome stuff on TikTok. This has to do with measuring flour!
As a kid, I’d help my mom make Polish and Italian cookies for Christmas. We use to use a ton of flour. I would just scoop the measuring cup in there and bring out the amount of flour I needed. Usually some… okay a lot ended up on the floor. If you want light fluffy pastries, then scooping flour out of the bag isn’t what you want to do. According to this TikTok video, you are supposed to scoop the flour out of the bag with a spoon into the measuring cup. That way the flour doesn’t compact and you get the right amount of flour… not too much. When you scoop out the flour you are actually getting more flour than you need. Check out this video and let me know if you agree with it. As I said, I’m not a baker, so I don’t know if this is true.
