Not many people are great at world geography. But you’d think most of us would do okay with major landmarks in our own backyard. A new survey asked people where different landmarks are, like the Grand Canyon. And only 38% of Americans know what state it’s in. 19% said it was in Colorado, which was the most common wrong answer. The correct answer is . . . Arizona.
Here’s one more: Only 32% of people knew where Niagara Falls is . . . even though New York and Canada were BOTH acceptable answers. 22% thought it was in Iceland.
