Last weekend, I played in a softball tournament. I applied sunscreen like four times and it didn’t do much. I still ended up getting a slight burn. With as hot as it has been across the country the past few days, a lot of folks are Googling some ways to treat sunburns. The common articles that are appearing are MedicalNews Today, AAD, and Women’s Health. Here are some of the tips they are giving. Some of these are actually new to me.
- Shaving Cream- I’ve never heard of this one before. Apparently, it helps with the inflammation but doesn’t do much else.
- Aleo- This is what I’ve used my whole life. When I was younger, I would ask my mom if I could have some of the blue stuff to help my sunburn. Now it’s green but does the same thing.
- Vinigar- I’ve never heard about this one. With vinegar being acidic, you would think that it would burn when someone put it on their skin, but what do I know.
- Lotion- This is good to help prevent peeling, but lotion traps in the heat. You wouldn’t want to use it right after a sunburn. Give it a couple of days before you use this one.
- Coconut Oil- This is the same as the lotion. After treating the burn for while this is good, but using it right away isn’t. It’ll trap in the heat.
Let me know which one’s work best for you!
