Most colleges require that you do an internship in order to graduate. My college didn’t require it, but they highly recommend it. I ended up hitting the internship jackpot! I scored a sports internship at a TV Station in Omaha, Nebraska during Olympic Swim Trials and College World Seriories five years ago. I spent two weeks bouncing between the two and learning so much. I even got into a swimming pool with a microphone and mic stand so a reporter could do a live report. That was the most fun summer of my life and I’d do anything to relive it. David also had a sports internship but in Dallas, Texas for a TV Station. I did have a mess up as an intern, but it was a prank, so I’m not sure if it counts. One of our reporters asked me to edit his story while he was on his lunch break. I decided to put star transitions between each video clip because he use to tease me all the time. He didn’t check the story when he got back because he trusted me and sent it to air. The production department made an announcement over the intercom and I had to fix it two minutes before it aired. He thought it was funny, but we both would have gotten into a lot of trouble if that wouldn’t have happened. We both still joke about that to this day.
According to Twitter, an HBO Max intern had a big mess up. They sent out a blank email to some of their subscribers. The company put out a tweet saying it was the intern that did that and they are working with them. I totally get it. You definitely learn from your mistakes. At least I have over the years and internships are the place to learn those things. That poor intern! My heart goes out to them! This little mess-up has caused the internet to talk about their experiences as interns. We would love to hear from you. You can hit me up on here or on Facebook.
We mistakenly sent out an empty test email to a portion of our HBO Max mailing list this evening. We apologize for the inconvenience, and as the jokes pile in, yes, it was the intern. No, really. And we’re helping them through it. ❤️
