FORT PIERRE – Two Pierre shooters will take part in national competition next month after placing in the top four June 17 in rifle shooting and trap shooting during the South Dakota High School Finals Rodeo.
Jenna Kruger won the rifle competition for the second straight year, scoring 325 points with five center shots. Also from Pierre, Rylie Stoeser was second with 305 points and three centers and Jasmine Hays came third with 298 points and two centers. However, Stoeser and Hays indicated that they will not take part in the national competition.
Jessica Hays of Pierre finished second in trap shooting to qualify for the national event, which will take place during the National High School Finals Rodeo in July in Lincoln, Nebraska.
