I’m am by no means a relationship expert. To be honest I really haven’t dated much. I always turn to friends and family for advice. I once dated a guy for a year and we never told each other we loved one another. That should have been a red flag, but I was blind and didn’t move on as fast as I should have.
A few relationship questions were posted on YouGov and folks are talking a lot about how they feel on these topics. To be honest, I’m super grateful for this because I blind when it comes to this stuff. Here are some of the findings. The site does say these time frames aren’t for everyone, but these are “typical” time frames in most relationships.
- 60% of folks surveyed said you should tell your partner you love them in six months or less!
- Folks in this survey said you should meet each other’s families within three months.
- These folks said you should go on vacation together within the first year ideally within the first six months together
- The survey found most couples will sleep with one another within the first month of their relationship
- The one-year mark is huge. Folks say they normally move in with their significant other at the one-year mark.
Like the article says these marks aren’t perfect for everyone and you should do what is best for you. These are just averages for the general population. I’ve seen a lot of my friends hit these relationship marks around the same time the survey said most people do, so I think these are on the mark for most folks.
