It’s time for some more Feel Good Friday Stories….
- The town of Braidwood, Illinois does an annual parade for charity where people decorate golf carts. And the guy who won last year is about to win again . . . after converting a golf cart into a drivable Navy destroyer.
- A small brush fire broke out on the side of the road in Oregon on Sunday. But then random people who were stuck in traffic put it out with water bottles.
- Gerber announced its new “spokesbaby” for 2021 yesterday. He’s a four-month-old from Florida named Zane. His parents get $25,000 . . . free Gerber products for a year . . . and $1,000 worth of baby clothes.
- A woman in Pennsylvania went on an animal shelter website looking for a dog to adopt . . . and ended up finding HER OWN dog that went missing two years ago. He’s a pit bill-Rottweiler mix named Kovu, and he went NUTS as soon as he saw her.
- Honda unveiled a new device to help visually impaired people get around easier while walking. They’re little sensors that pair with an app and clip on to each shoe. Then they track your pre-planned route and vibrate when it’s time to turn left or right.
- A mom in St. Louis recently had a job interview, and didn’t have anyone to watch her toddler. But luckily the company was fine with it and told her to bring him along. So she dressed him up in a suit . . . made him his own resumé . . . and she got the job.
- An 82-year-old woman named Wally Funk trained with NASA in 1961 and did BETTER than the guys. But she never got to go to space because she’s a woman. But now 60 years later, that’s about to change. Because Jeff Bezos just announced she’ll be joining him on a Blue Origin rocket later this month. And she’ll also become the OLDEST person to go to space. The launch date is July 20th. Jeff’s brother is going too, along with someone who paid $28 million for a seat. Jeff posted a video with Wally on Instagram yesterday, and she’s thrilled about it. He said “no one has waited longer” than she has.
