One person died Thursday morning in a motorcycle crash west of Rapid City.
The name of the one person involved is not yet being released.
Preliminary information indicates that a 1996 Honda VT 600 motorcycle was eastbound when the driver lost control. The motorcycle went left, across the westbound lane and struck a guard rail. The 32-year-old female driver, who wearing a helmet, was thrown from the motorcycle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is in charge of the investigation. All information is preliminary at this time.
The Highway Patrol is part of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
