BUTTE, MT – Kaiden Cardoso hit a go-ahead two-run double Sunday as the Pierre Trappers overcame a 5-0 deficit and outlasted the Mining City Tommyknockers 12-9 at 3 Legends Park to salvage one game of the four-game series.
Cardoso’s double came in the fifth inning. Mining City had scored four runs in the first inning and one in the second before Pierre rallied for four in the fourth inning.
Winning pitcher Mason Torve (2-3) recovered from the tough start to pitch six innings, allowing five runs and seven hits.
