The 6th Annual South Dakota Salutes appreciation shooting competition is just days away and South Dakota “invitees” are encouraged to attend.
South Dakota Salutes is an event to raise money for the families of South Dakota “First Responders” who have died in the line of duty, as well as an appreciation event to show support for those who serve and protect the citizens of South Dakota.
“Throughout South Dakota, thousands of our family members, friends and neighbors selflessly put themselves in harm’s way each and every day to keep us safe. We want to make sure they know how much we appreciate their service,” said Tony Bour, organization founder. “South Dakota Salutes gives us the honor of meeting our heroes face to face to say thank you, as well as ensure the sons and daughters of those who have fallen have bright futures.”
Four times in an 18-month period, South Dakota Salutes responded with $10,000 cash gifts to bridge the immediate financial concerns for families of First Responders who died in the line of duty, while serving and protecting South Dakotans.
The Appreciation Shooting Event, featuring pistol, rifle and sporting clays competitions, is scheduled as follows:
- September 27, 2021 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. (CDT)
- September 28, 2021 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. (CDT)
