BRANDON – Top-10 finishes by Hayden Shaffer and Jared Lutmer helped the Pierre Governor boys to a third-place finish Saturday at the ESD cross-country meet at McHardy Park.
Shaffer finished second at 16:41.52, six seconds behind winner Josh Martin of Aberdeen Central. Lutmer was sixth with a time of 17:22.22. Mason Dell finished 13th for Pierre, Brady Gere was 22nd, Blake Judson finished 33rd, Haeden Wheelhouse was 46th, Mason Ward-Zeller 47th and Riley Pfeifer 48th. Jamin McGray ran 66th.
The Governor girls were seventh. LizBeth Crosby was best individually for Pierre, running in 21:25.25 to finish 16th. Autumn Iverson was 30th, Jazzlyn Rombough 38th, Avery Lisburg 42nd, Lennix Dupris 44th and Mason Berg 50th.
Pierre’s teams will next run Thursday in Huron at the Roger Loecker Invitational at Broadland Creek Golf Course.
