PIERRE – A sluggish start for the Pierre Governor girls almost led to an improbable comeback.
After Lakota Tech led 56-34 through three quarters, Pierre cut the lead to four late in the fourth quarter Tuesday before the Tatanka held on for a 65-60 win at the Riggs High Gym.
Tobi Carlow led Lakota Tech (10-1) with 23 points. Shayla Bravo scored 16.
Lennix DuPris had a career-high 17 points and nine rebounds for the Governors (2-5) off the bench. Remington Price hit three three-pointers and scored 16. Reese Terwilliger matched a career-high in points with 14.
Lakota Tech hit eight of their first 13 three-pointers to build their big lead before Pierre outscored the visitors 26-9 in the fourth quarter.
