ABERDEEN – Leading by eight in the second quarter, Pierre Governor Girls Basketball looked to have a chance to break out of their stretch of four losses in five games. But then, shots didn’t fall and the Governors did.
Aberdeen Central outscored Pierre in the second half 27-9 in beating the Governors 44-28 at Golden Eagle Arena. Kiana Mounga scored 17 of her 21 points in the second half for the Golden Eagles, adding 15 rebounds.
Reese Terwilliger scored eight to lead Pierre (3-8), who made just one three-pointer and committed 20 turnovers.
The Governors will host top-ranked O’Gorman Friday at the Riggs High Gym. Coverage will begin at 6:30 on 1060/103.1 KGFX and at the KGFX page at the DRG News app & drgnews.com.
