MITCHELL – Mitchell High School girls basketball head coach Cole Knippling is resigning after three seasons.
Knippling will become the principal in Parkston for grades six through 12.
Knippling, a native of Chamberlain, was 33-33 as head coach of the Kernel girls, including 9-12 this past season. In 2020-21, Mitchell was 16-8 and finished sixth in the Class AA state tournament.
He is a former head coach of boys basketball at Elk Point-Jefferson.
