Kids will love this idea, but parents might not . . . unless you’re an overworked teacher. A recent study at Oregon State looked into whether switching to a FOUR-day school week would be better. Meaning kids would be home three days a week.
Over 1,600 schools in the U.S. actually tried this already starting in 2018 and 2019. But the study found it hasn’t gone very well. Especially with tough subjects like math.
Kids’ reading skills weren’t affected that much. But their math skills plummeted, especially at schools in big cities. So they say if we want to do the four-day school week thing, adjustments need to be made.
