RAPID CITY – Jett Zabel and Lincoln Kienholz each drove in three runs as part of an 18-hit attack Saturday as Pierre Governor Baseball routed Rapid City Central 19-2 to open 2022 at 3-0.
Kienholz had a two-run triple during an eight-run third inning that extended the Governors’ lead from 4-0 to 12-0. Zabel had an RBI single in that inning and another during a seven-run fifth inning. Pierre totaled 18 hits.
Cade Kaiser and Grayson Hunsley hit two-run doubles and Brecken Krueger had a two-run single.
Zabel also pitched two and two-thirds scoreless innings for the win.
The Governors will next play Friday in Sioux Falls against Brandon Valley and O’Gorman .
