One of South Dakota’s agriculture commodity organizations has given itself a new name– but it’ll sound familiar to many.
Caren Assman is the Executive Director of the former SD Wheat Incorporated group, which is now going by South Dakota Wheat Growers Association.
Assman says the name changed, but the organization’s mission remains the same.
The Wheat Growers District 2 meeting is at 6pm tonight (May 3, 2022) at the 73 Bar in Philip. Assman says members will be able to sign up to win a grain analyzer worth around $11,500.
Other South Dakota Wheat Growers Association district meetings will be held May 17 at 5:30pm at Al’s Oasis at Chamberlain/Oacoma and May 24 at 6pm at Richie Z’s in Pierre.
Assman says she will also have information about the state and national wheat yield contests available for farmers attending the district meetings.
