Time to enjoy some more Feel Good Friday stories…
1. 14 different nurses at a neonatal center in Missouri all got pregnant at the same time. “Good Morning America” talked to them last week. Then during the interview, a 15th nurse revealed she’s pregnant too.
2. You know those cheesy pink flamingos people put in their yards? A group in Buffalo, New York broke a world record on Tuesday by lining 4,280 of them up in a row. They beat the old record by more than 500.
3. A bald eagle recently snatched a baby red-tailed hawk from its nest near Vancouver, British Columbia probably to eat it. But wildlife officials say that hasn’t happened. Instead, the eagle and its mate adopted it. Now they’re raising it as their own.
4. A couple from Kansas recently went to Las Vegas on vacation, and left their dog Dexter at a kennel. Then they got an alert from their doorbell cam after he broke out by scaling a six-foot fence and found his way back to their home two miles away. They talked to him over the speaker while someone at the kennel drove and got him. They say he’s really smart, sometimes too smart for his own good.
5. An English teacher in Michigan named Sheridan Steelman just retired after teaching at the same school for 50 years. So everyone lined up on the last day of school, and surprised her with a standing ovation on her way out.
6. A 70-year-old grandmother in Philly heard there was a lifeguard shortage this summer. So she just decided to come out of retirement and take it up again. She used to be a lifeguard back when she was 16, so 54 years ago.
7. A guy from North Carolina used to have a classic ’65 Mustang, but sold it years ago when he had kids and needed the cash. So to thank him for it, his two adult children waited until he retired, and recently bought him another one. They found a similar 1967 model and fixed it up.
8. A grateful Burger King employee at the Las Vegas airport showed off the lame gift bag he got after 27 years on the job without missing a day. It included things like a lanyard, some pens, and two rolls of Lifesavers. Since he’s in the airport, he actually works for the company HMS Host, which contracts him out to Burger King. And even though HE was grateful, people online thought he deserved more. So someone started a GoFundMe for him. Last we checked, people had donated over $35,000.
9. An elementary school in New Jersey threw a big going-away party this week for a crossing guard. Her name is Claire Bauman, and she’s finally retiring at age 94. She’s been a crossing guard at the school for 57 years. She started in 1965.
