A 31 year old man from Rapid City convicted of Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person has been sentenced in federal court.
Jackson Bissonette must spend 24 months in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release, and ordered to pay a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.
The conviction stems from Bissonette, a previously convicted felon who is prohibited from possessing firearms, illegally possessing a TriStar Arms, Hunter EX.12 gauge over-under double-barrel shotgun, which was found after Bissonette came into contact with law enforcement in January 2020 in Rapid City.
