Record-breaking US beef exports are a hot topic at the Cattle Industry Summer Business Meeting in Reno, and this includes strong interest in exports of beef variety meat.
At a session highlighting checkoff-funded efforts to expand beef demand, attendees heard from US Meat Export Federation Senior Director of Marketing Programs Scott Reynolds. He detailed how international demand for specific beef variety meat items helps add value to US cattle and outlines the global demand for US beef variety meats.
US beef variety meat exports topped $1 billion for the first time in 2021. Through May, this year’s exports have already reached $526 million – up 33% from last year’s pace.
