WATERTOWN – Gracelyn Taylor scored the winning goal with just over seven minutes to play Tuesday as Pierre Governor Girls Soccer notched a 2-1 win over Watertown at the ANZA Soccer Complex. Rylan Derry scored the Governor boys’ only goal in a 1-1 draw with the Arrows.
Taylor’s winning goal came from a right-footed half-volley in the 72nd minute, set up by Ryann Barry. Aspen Reynolds scored first in the seventh minute for Watertown. Jasmine Jost tied the game in the 48th minute for Pierre (4-2).
In the boys’ game, Derry scored in the eighth minute for Pierre (3-2-1) on a 55-foot volley that bounced past Watertown goalkeeper Blake Hight. Jaxon Fiechtner salvaged the draw for Watertown in the 19th minute.
