PIERRE – For a team that has won so far on balanced offense, Ryann Barry provided a memorable individual effort Thursday.
Barry scored a career-high 30 points and knocked down six three pointers as Pierre remained undefeated with a 59-41 girls basketball win over Sioux Falls Lincoln at the Riggs High Gym.
Barry helped the Governors overcome an early five-point deficit by scoring 13 of her team’s 16 points in the second quarter, after which Pierre led 30-15 at halftime. Barry then added 16 more points in the second half.
Remington Price hit two three-pointers and scored 11 for Pierre, while Reese Terwilliger added 10 points and nine rebounds.
Pierre is 6-0 to open the season for the first time since 2008-09 and defeated Lincoln in girls basketball for the first time since December, 2009.
