5 shot, including girl, at Mardi Gras parade in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — New Orleans police say five people were shot, including a young girl, during a Mardi Gras parade. WWL-TV reports that police said the victims Sunday night (Feb. 19, 2023) included a woman and three men. They were all taken to a hospital. One victim is in critical condition. Police say one person was detained at the scene in connection with the shooting during the Krewe of Bacchus parade. Two guns were recovered. Police say that “we really wanted this to be a safe Mardi Gras.”
