After the week we had let’s enjoy these Feel Good Friday stories.
1. A couple in Wisconsin won over $18,000 in a 50/50 raffle at a Milwaukee Brewers game last year . . . used it to pay for fertility treatments . . . and just had their first baby. Their son Foster was born in February. They just took him to his first Brewers game on Opening Day.
2. Two teenagers attacked a guy at a Chick-fil-A in Virginia on Saturday, and one of them pulled a knife. But luckily, three Marines happened to be there and put a stop to it. One of them broke the handle off, so the kid couldn’t use it anymore. The two teens ran off with the guy’s phone, but cops arrested them outside a CVS nearby.
3. A woman in South Carolina bought herself a lottery ticket for her birthday . . . scratched it off . . . and won $200,000. Now she’s buying a house.
4. Some jerk stole a three-year-old kid’s brand-new Spider-Man bike in Rockland, Maine last Thursday, and cops are still looking for the guy. But the kid already has a new bike after a woman who’s currently homeless stepped in to help. She wants to remain anonymous, but she’s been living out of her car. When she heard about the story, she used the little money she had to buy him a new Spider-Man bike and matching helmet. She dropped it off at a police station the other day. Now a nonprofit called Mid-Coast Recovery Coalition is raising money to help her get back on her feet.
5. An art teacher at a school in Honolulu was driving home from work last Wednesday when he saved a 100-year-old woman’s life. Her daughter’s car was stopped in the left lane. Then he saw her standing in the road choking. So he jumped out, did the Heimlich, and saved her life. It turned out she’d accidentally inhaled a cough drop. He left when cops got there. But his shirt had his school’s logo on it. So the daughter was able to track him down the next day and say thanks.
6. Chrysler is selling a new optional package for its Pacifica minivan that’s specifically for kids with autism. It’s called the “Calm Cabin” package and costs an extra $300. It includes things like a weighted blanket, a light-and-sound therapy machine, and a velvet seatbelt cover to make long car rides easier.
7. A couple’s gender reveal is going viral after a whole restaurant got in on it. They went out to dinner with their family . . . had a bunch of cupcakes for dessert . . . and one of them had either pink or blue frosting inside. There were more cupcakes than family members. And even after each of them tried one, they hadn’t found the frosting yet. So they started enlisting people at other tables . . . and a random woman eventually yelled, “It’s a GIRL!”
8. Late last month, a 21-year-old pilot in Michigan named Taylor Hash had to make an emergency landing after her single-engine plane lost its front wheel. She didn’t even know until another pilot noticed and told air traffic control. That pilot’s name is Chris Yates, and he ended up talking her down. He got on the radio . . . told her his daughter happens to be named Taylor too . . . and said, “We’re gonna be just fine, kiddo.” She landed safely and wasn’t hurt.

11. An 18-year-old in England was diagnosed with high-functioning autism two years ago, and a friend told him he’d never be a doctor like he wanted to. But he was inspired to keep pursuing it after watching the show “The Good Doctor” about a surgeon with autism. Now he’s headed to medical school later this year.
12. A stray dog was brought in to the South Carolina animal shelter, and was scanned for a microchip when the staff found out something crazy. The dog ended up being a pet that has been missing from his family for three years. The canine was suffering from multiple health problems including malnourishment, dental problems, matted fur and a flea infestation. The dog was identified as an 18-year -old missing pet named Binky. The shelter said Binky’s family, who live six hours away from Summerville, were surprised and overjoyed to learn their pet had been found after three years. The shelter said Mr. B’s story highlights the importance of microchipping.
