PRESHO – Lyman High School alum Blaine Brakke was named Friday as the Raiders’ new wrestling head coach.
Brakke graduated from Lyman in 2005 after placing twice at the state tournament, fourth as a sophomore and eighth as a senior. He then attended South Dakota State, from where he graduated in 2011.
Brakke replaces Chad Johnson, who recently stepped down after 20 seasons, where he led the Raiders to three district titles and coached 60 state qualifiers.
Three of the five Lyman wrestlers who qualified for this year’s state tournament will return for 2023-24.
