PIERRE – The great run for Pierre Governor Baseball continued with two more wins Sunday to end the regular season.
The Governors swept Rapid City Stevens 5-2 and 7-6 at Hyde Stadium to finish the regular season with 10 consecutive wins and a 10-5 record.
Pierre will host a best-of-three playoff Class A SDHSBA series next weekend.

Lincoln Kienholz struck out 13 in five and a third innings, with Jonny Lyons pitching an inning and two-thirds scoreless for the save.
Trevor Rounds stole home for the Governors’ first run in the first inning. In a three-run second inning, Spencer Easland hit an RBI triple and Dawson Getz and Kienholz had RBI singles.
Pierre 7, RC Stevens 6
The Governors rallied from a 6-1 deficit to win, with George Stalley’s sacrifice fly being the difference in the bottom of the seventh.
Pierre scored three runs in that winning seventh inning, with the first two coming on a Stevens error. Kienholz homered and Jett Zabel had a sacrifice fly. JJ Bucholz, who entered the game during a five-run Stevens rally in the second, pitched five and two-thirds scoreless innings for the win, allowing just one hit.
