FULL STORY: It’s hard to keep in touch with everyone as we get older. But even if you’ve only got two close friends, you’re doing alright.
A poll asked 40,000 Americans how many “close friends” they have, and one in five of us don’t have that many. 13% said just one close friend, and 8% said zero.
55% said somewhere between two and five. 18% of us have more close friends than that.
So will you inevitably end up with fewer and fewer friends as you get older? Maybe not.
According to the poll, seniors actually have the MOST close friends. They were also the most likely to say that making new friends is easy.
Adults between 18 and 30 were the top group to say making friends is hard.
