PIERRE – It was a homecoming win and a little history for Pierre Governor Football.
Cade Kaiser passed for four touchdowns and ran for another Friday as Pierre ran past Watertown in the Governors’ homecoming game at Hollister Field at Phil Trautner Stadium 49-20.
The victory was the 72nd for Steve Steele as Pierre’s head coach, matching Phil Trautner for the school record.
Kaiser was 19-of-33 for 351 yards passing and had 74 yards rushing on 11 carries. Jett Zabel and Brock Moser also had touchdown runs for the Governors (5-0), who eased to the program’s 20th straight victory.
Zabel had eight catches for 111 yards and three scores. George Stalley had 167 receiving yards on six catches, including a 62-yard touchdown.
Emmit Andersen had seven tackles, including three solo, and two and a half sacks for the Pierre defense.
