Former Pierre Governor Mackenzie Rath has been named as the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference soccer goalkeeper of the year for the second straight year.
Rath, a junior at Minnesota State, has allowed only five goals this season in 1,595 minutes of play and has 13 shutouts and 74 saves. Rath is third in Mavericks’ program history with 41 wins, second in shutouts with 36 and first in saves with 244.
Minnesota State is the fourth seed in the NCAA Division II Central Region tournament and will play fifth seed Central Missouri on Friday in Topeka, Kansas.
If the Mavericks win, they would play Sunday in the second round against the winner of the match between Washburn and Ouachita Baptist.
