Two Capitol Cheer squads competed at the Valentine’s Classic event over the weekend (Jan. 27, 2024) in Sioux Falls.
Capitol Cheer owner and coach Jill Caauwe says both teams that competed brought home bronze place finishes.
Capitol Cheer team ICE placed 3rd out of 7 teams in the Youth Prep 2.1 level, which is for ages 8-12 years. Capitol Cheer team Avalanche placed 3rd out of 4 teams in the Mini Prep 1.1 level, which is for ages 7-9 years.
Caauwe says the Valentine’s Classic is the longest running and largest cheer and dance competition in South Dakota.
