UNDATED – The Oahe Capitals Girls U14 hockey team closed out their season with a 4-3 win over the Sioux Center Storm in the third place game of the State Girls U14 hockey tournament on Sunday. Mallory Lehrkamp scored the game tying goal at the 10:21 mark of the third period off assists from Aubrey Stewart, then netted the game winner at the 11 minute mark of overtime from an assist from Ava Lavinger. Lehrkamp started the Oahe scoring late in the second period. Lavinger tied the game at 2 with a goal at 3:18 of the third period. The Capital U14 Girls outshot Sioux Center 26-18 while goaltender Taylor Allerdings made 15 saves. On Saturday, Watertown beat Oahe 5-1 in a semifinal game. Sioux Falls downed Watertown 3-1 in the State Championship game.
