You’ve probably seen the viral video of the guy who was DRIVING during a virtual court appearance . . . about his SUSPENDED license.
Well, it just got MORE ridiculous.
After the video became a sensation, the driver . . . a 44-year-old Michigan man named Corey Harris . . . complained about being made a punchline.
He told the local news that the COURTS had made a mistake, and that the suspension of his license had been removed from his record. Which was true . . . technically . . . but he neglected to mention one HUGE detail . . .
Corey NEVER HAD A DRIVER’S LICENSE to begin with.
In a follow-up court hearing on Wednesday, the judge spent 10 minutes LECTURING Corey and his representation for not taking responsibility and blaming the court. And the judge was VERY irritated.
He said, “Let me make it very clear. He has never had a Michigan license. EVER. And he’s never had a license in the other 49 states.”
So how was it suspended? The judge explained that when someone gets their license suspended, they aren’t suspending an actual, physical license . . . they’re suspending someone’s “privilege to drive in that state.”
The judge even proved that Corey has never been licensed. The records show that he applied for a STATE I.D. in Michigan in 1999 . . . way back when he was 19. And he’s “religiously” renewed that I.D. every year since.
You can’t have BOTH a state I.D. and a driver’s license . . . it’s an either-or thing. So, he never took a driving exam, and every time a document asks for his driver’s license, he wouldn’t have one to provide.
Corey didn’t directly comment . . . but his attorney basically admitted that he’d LIED. She said Corey was “not under oath for anything he said” to the media . . . that he just wants to “move forward” . . . and that he has an appointment to finally get his driver’s license.
