A 23 year old man from Pierre faces charges after being arrested Monday afternoon (Dec. 8, 2025, at about 1:07pm CT) for going 58 mph in a 35 mph speed zone.
Information from the Pierre Police Department says a patrol officer on Garfield Avenue conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding. While speaking with the driver, identified as Dominick Zephier, the officer noted signs that Zephier may be under the influence of alcohol.
The patrol officer conducted a DUI investigation, after which Zephier was placed under arrest for driving while under the influence, driving with a suspended driver’s license, expired vehicle registration and speeding. Zephier was taken to the Hughes County Jail.
