ABERDEEN – Athletes from Pierre, Chamberlain and Lyman High Schools had high finishes in the South Dakota State High School Clay Target League State Tournament, held this past weekend.
Pierre’s varsity tied for second in the 2A varsity trap event with 469 points, even with Mitchell and three points behind winner Yankton.
Also, Pierre’s Megan Rose tied for the second-best junior varsity girls’ score with 84.
Chamberlain won the 1A varsity and novice events and was second to Lyman in junior varsity. Chamberlain’s Colin Mayer had the best varsity score for boys with 99. Blaine Krienke of Chamberlain and Coy Schoulte of Lyman tied for the best boys’ JV score with 94. In the novice division for Chamberlain, Austin Rose was third-best for boys with 83 and Amelia Schroeder was second best for girls with 83.
Chamberlain also won the varsity skeet event with 443 points, two more than Belle Fourche.
