Did You Have “Living Room Parents” or “Bedroom Parents”?

A TikTok’er started a discussion about the two kinds of parents many of us had while growing up.  She had “bedroom parents” who spent most of the time in their bedroom, away from everyone, and the kids didn’t go in there unless invited.

Her husband had “living room parents.”  They spent almost all of their time in the public spaces of the house, hanging out with everybody.  Commenters expanded it to “basement parents,” “separate bedroom parents,” and a few others.
