Think of the worst flight you’ve ever been on. Was it the turbulence? A crying baby? Maybe an inconvenienced Karen? I’d take any of those over this . . .
A Delta flight from Atlanta to Barcelona had to turn around on Friday due to a quote, “biohazard issue.” More specifically, one of the passengers had DIARRHEA. And unfortunately, the situation wasn’t contained to the lavatories.
Someone posted a clip of the pilot talking to air traffic control. He said, quote, “We’ve had a passenger who’s had diarrhea all the way THROUGH THE AIRPLANE.” (!!!) (Here’s the audio.)
It happened about two hours into the flight, but they weren’t over the Atlantic yet. Since it was technically a biohazard, they had to turn around and make an emergency landing back in Atlanta.
Delta hasn’t given a ton of details on it. They described it as a “medical issue,” and said the plane was deep-cleaned in Atlanta. It landed in Spain about eight hours later than it was supposed to.
