PHILIP – Philip boys and Jones County girls cross country teams qualified for the state meet Wednesday with their finishes at the Region 5B meet at Lake Waggoner Golf Course.
Led by Baylor Burns, Philip’s boys had the top five individual runners and won the team score by 20 points over Lemmon. Burns ran in 16:53.44.
Asher Peterson of the Scotties was second, followed by teammates Wakely Burns, Tukker Boe and Trey Larson.
Jones County’s girls qualified for state by finishing second as a team with 21 points, 15 behind Lemmon. BreAna Aske ran second for the Coyotes in 21:30.94. Aubrey Tucker was 10th, with Addison Kierl 12th, Sophie Dowling 18th and Aubrie Norman 19th.
